Question 2

Does acupuncture painful?

Accepted Answer

Acupuncture needles are very fine and are different from injection needles. Jean Liang, L.Ac. uses sterile, single-use disposable needles and a gentle, comfort-focused technique. Many patients feel only a light sensation, warmth, heaviness, tingling, or deep relaxation during treatment.

Question 3

How many sessions are needed?

Accepted Answer

The number of visits depends on your condition, how long you have had symptoms, your overall health, and your treatment goals. Jean will discuss a recommended care plan after your consultation.

Question 4

Are there side effects?

Accepted Answer

Serious side effects are very rare. Depending on the procedure, you might experience mild soreness, redness, or temporary fatigue. This is a normal part of the body's natural healing process and typically resolves on its own within 24 to 48 hours. We use clinically proven techniques to ensure your experience is safe and comfortable.

Question 5

How should I prepare for treatment?

Accepted Answer

Your first visit may include a consultation, symptom review, pulse assessment, and a personalized treatment plan. Depending on your needs, treatment may include acupuncture, cupping, Gua Sha, moxibustion, herbal support, ear seed therapy, or heat therapy.

Question 6

Are acupuncture needles sterile?

Accepted Answer

Yes. We use sterile, single-use disposable acupuncture needles for every treatment and follow proper sanitation practices to support patient safety and comfort.

Question 7

What conditions do you commonly support?

Accepted Answer

Our clinic commonly provides acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine care for back pain, neck pain, sciatica, headaches, migraines, stress, insomnia, women's health, digestive concerns, post-stroke recovery support, Bell's palsy recovery, sports injuries, and general wellness.

Question 8

What is cupping therapy, and will it leave marks?

Accepted Answer

Cupping is a therapeutic technique where specialized cups are placed on the skin to create a gentle suction. This process decompresses the tissue, increases localized blood flow, and relieves deep muscle tension. It is very common to have circular marks left behind, ranging from light pink to dark purple. However, these are not bruises. Unlike a bruise caused by trauma, cupping marks are rarely painful to the touch. The discoloration simply indicates that cellular waste and stagnant fluid have been drawn out of deep tissue to the surface, where your lymphatic system can naturally clear it away. The marks are temporary and typically fade completely within 3 to 7 days.

Question 9

Do you offer herbal medicine or herbal granules?

Accepted Answer

We provide custom herbal medicine in the form of high-quality, concentrated granules. We specifically choose granules over traditional raw herbs because they allow for highly precise dosing and ensure the most consistent, controllable results for your treatment. As a bonus, they are incredibly convenient for your busy lifestyle—simply dissolve the powder in warm water, with no time-consuming brewing required.

Question 10

Do you accept insurance?

Accepted Answer

We accept most major health insurance plans! Because every individual policy is a little bit different, our team will gladly check and verify your specific benefits for you before your first visit. This ensures you know exactly what your plan covers upfront, with no surprise bills.

Question 11

Where should I park?

Accepted Answer

We have plenty of parking! While street parking is available at the front of the building, we highly recommend using our spacious rear parking lot. It has plenty of open spaces and offers completely step-free access to our clinic, making it incredibly convenient and comfortable, especially if you are experiencing any pain or mobility issues.

Question 12

Accepted Answer
